The wanderer himself, Austin Gore

When I was three years old, I was diagnosed with Autism and ADD. These afflictions made growing up a struggle. I could barely speak, felt an overwhelming sense of awkwardness and was bound by tethers that held me back from interacting with children my age. My only choice was to overcome the adversity and challenges presented to me; retreating was never an option. That choice turned my disadvantages into strengths, for now I see things in a unique way others don’t.

At the University of New Mexico, I learned to deal with a variety of people.  I was an officer in my fraternity and was on the inter-fraternity council. I worked part-time teaching older people how to use technology, filled various internships and was an officer of the Bubble Soccer club. My perseverance paid off. I earned a spot on the Dean’s list both semesters of my senior year and received my Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

I moved to Phoenix, and now work at Home Depot. I’ve earned praise, awards, and more positive customer feedback than anyone else. Every day is different, bringing its own distinct puzzles and challenges. Customers aren’t sure where things are in our gigantic store and need specialized help. I send them in the right direction. There are multiple things happening at once—it can feel like juggling eggs. Internet copywriting can be like that, too—multiple moving parts that must come together to persuade your customers. I bring order to chaotic copywriting details. 

Autism gives me an exceptional ability to focus. Each section of the copywriting will receive the attention it needs to shine. I see the details within the larger picture, making my work more efficient and manageable.

Starting out where I did, I worked twice as hard to catch up and surpass others. I’ve been forced to step up and have persisted—never giving up— even under daunting circumstances. I am always working for customers and will bring the same zeal, energy, hard work and ability to get the job done to your copywriting.
